SERVING
In AXIS we believe that each individual has been designed uniquely by God to engage the world as only they can. But God has not created us uniquely for our own sake. We have been designed for God’s purpose and for the sake of others. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift they have received to serve others faithfully administering God’s grace in it’s various forms.” What gift have you been given? What contribution will you make to this community–to the world? The best way to discover answers to questions like these is to simply begin to participate. Your life can make a difference. There are two aspects to AXIS Serving. The first involves opportunities to contribute within the AXIS community. The second involves opportunities to join the AXIS community in meeting needs that exist outside our walls.
There are many opportunities to contribute within the AXIS Community. We have Connect Teams that function at The Gathering and at the AXIS booth on Sundays, we have Production Teams that perform all the programming functions for the Gathering, we have Operations Teams that help with data entry and follow up phone calls, we have Group Leaders who facilitate spiritual conversation and community in our AXIS Groups, and the list goes on. Let us know if you would like to learn more about serving in the AXIS community! There are multiple ways for you to get involved and help build into AXIS.
AXIS Serving Events are also a way you can use your uniqueness for the sake of someone else. At a serving event you will join with a group of other people from the AXIS Community to meet a felt need locally or around the world. These events can take anywhere from one hour to several hours, from a weekend to a couple of weeks. Each event is a one-time commitment and there is no expectation that you serve at every AXIS Serving Event. These events are scheduled at various points throughout the year and are primarily communicated at The Gathering or during AXIS Groups. Contact us to find out more about the next AXIS Serving event.
The ultimate goal, of course, is that we serve each other and become engaged in social justice, compassion and other forms of outreach as a lifestyle. Serving within the AXIS Community and during AXIS serving events is simply a way to explore your unique design and to gain insight in how God may be calling you to engage the world as only you can. Finally there is no better way to connect with great people than by serving along side of others. So come and lock arms with us. We look forward to knowing you better and inviting you into the core of what AXIS is really all about!
