GROUPS
AXIS Groups are smaller groups of five to twenty-five people where you can experience spiritual conversation and prayer. In an AXIS Group you will discover a warm and inviting atmosphere that engages all of your senses. Since Spiritual Community is the primary value, it is not uncommon for these groups to spend time wrestling with hard questions, caring and praying for each other, and personally inspiring one another. It is impossible for someone to discover their uniqueness and engage the world as only they can apart from spiritual community.
There are some important guidelines that exist in our groups. First, No Advice Allowed. There are certainly opportunities for you to gain an objective voice into your life at AXIS. The point of Groups, however, is not to try and fix each other. Everyone instead has permission to share from his or her heart without the fear of an ‘expert’ weighing in. The second guideline is No Judgment Allowed. It’s important that people are allowed to journey where they are. We are all broken and in need of God to redeem our lives. This does not mean we have no expectations for each other as we journey towards God together. Simply that redemption happens in different ways and times for everyone. So come ready to love and not condemn. Third, we want groups to be a safe place. It’s important for us to agree together that what is shared in groups is dealt with in the most loyal and trustworthy way.
No matter what life stage you’re in—Young Married Couples, Career Development, Graduate or Undergraduate Student—we have an AXIS Group for you. Because AXIS is committed to the do-ability of our process, all AXIS Groups meet on Sundays at either 1:30 or 6:00 p.m. with few exceptions. All discussion content for these groups is pulled straight from the Bible teaching in Willow Creek’s Weekend Service.

Anyone out there is looking for a life partner, life direction, and a place to belong. I would highly recommend joining one of the AXIS groups. They are real and no drama. I know it’s not perfect but definitely a great place to start and grow together into the right path. Good Luck!!!
hey! I’m new to the Chicago area, and I’m looking for a place to meet/make friends with fellow believers of my own age group. I’m a young (25) soon-to-be-married… any suggestions on which group I could/should join?
Kat! I’m not to sure if you have been plugged in yet or not but we have a pretty rockin’ young married’s group! Check it out if you haven’t been able to yet!
Question: Almost every weekend during announcements at SB I hear Axis described as the “20-30 something ministry.” So where do the SI graduates go to get plugged-in? It just seems that Axis is really for the older 20s and that the College agers who stay local don’t have a place.
Hi Guys! looking for a small group that meets near Huntley : )
